Doorbell camera footage captured the moment a blundering thief stole Christmas lights from a family's garden... by cutting the wire

Doorbell camera footage captured the moment a man stole Christmas decorations from a family's garden. However, the blundering thief cut the wires to do so, meaning the lights now won't work, reports Derbyshire Live.

The acrylic reindeer Christmas lights that were pilfered belonged to Nickola Mosley and cost her £49.99 when she had bought them last year. The mother says she only noticed they had disappeared when she opened the door to let her children in from school that afternoon. Her son then found the scissors used by the thief discarded in their garden. Nickola said: “It’s just so bizarre. We can’t quite understand why they’ve cut them, because they’re not going to work. The mother now cannot reorder the lights as they are out of stock on the retailer's website. Nickola said: “It’s quite annoying with the cost of living and everything and because I want it to look nice for people walking past and for my kids when they come home from school.
