Secret Santa is based on King William Street on Blackburn's high street and is a Community Interest Company , that collects money and gifts throughout the year to give to vulnerable and under-privileged children in the area. Although they do have a shop that is open throughout the year, finding gifts doesn't start ramping up until the Autumn and the charity is keen to get donations for this year.
"We want to give out 1,000 sacks with seven presents inside each one. Each sack costs around £25 so £25,000 is needed in order for us to do that. When we've got the presents and packed all of the sacks, we then distribute them out to hospitals and children's centres who give them out to the most disadvantaged children.
He added: "Last year, we thought we had failed dismally in getting presents for Christmas. Then, all of a sudden, it just went crazy as people are more willing to give to us when it gets closer to Christmas. This year, our takings have been down all year. Each day, we've been taking £60 in the shop and that's what we take, not the profits we're making.
"There's no blame on anyone, it's a difficult situation for people living in one of the poorest towns in the country," Phil said. "It's so stark what's going on and we had to spend £3,000 the other day to buy baby stuff or we'd have had nothing."
