Davies has been out of work since 2014 but is readying a pitch to the Ibrox board and feels he can restore them to former glories.
Billy Davies wants the chance to reignite Rangers and get them back challenging for glory in Scotland and Europe.
Davies has been out of football for nine years and the bulk of that time out has been for family reasons. He has received interest from several English Championship and League One approaches in that time but is now keen to get back into the game at the highest level. The former Rangers player has a wealth of experience and believes he can get his old back challenging in the Premiership and in Europe.
He has been active in going to games in Scotland and England in recent months, as he gets ready to make his managerial return. Davies made his name at Motherwell and Preston, where he averaged 79 points-a-season and led them to a club record equalling 22 games unbeaten run. Since then the 59-year-old has had two spells in the English Championship with Forest, where he led them to back-to-back play-offs. He also broke Brian Clough’s 30 year run of nine home wins and set a new record of 12 consecutive home wins that season.
