AN MP has demanded answers from a Better Together council after an iconic landmark in Stirling was demolished without warning.
Alyn Smith has written to the leader of Stirling Council demanding answers about the removal of the Christie Clock
The Christie Clock has stood in the city for more than 100 years but was found to be unstable when it was inspected by structural engineers last week. The area’s MSP Evelyn Tweed has also written to the council after receiving a number of emails from constituents expressing “deep shock”. “My understanding is that this was an attempt at restoration that went wrong and I am glad at least that none of the workers or indeed general public were hurt.
