Green Party says City Hall motion is 'limited' but does not object to proposal
Belfast Council is to conduct a pilot programme setting up one wildflower meadow for each quadrant of the city.
It adds: “The precise locations for these pilot projects will be presented for discussion during the inaugural convening of the area working groups. “That involves designating spots within our green open spaces and parks for urban wildflower meadows. That’s the approach the land management team was supposed to be about.
“You have to inform the public why you are doing it. You have to pick the right spots, have maintenance and control, and education is vitally important.
