Tomi Elemide is the youngest Irish dancer to win every major championship title in the same year
A mum from North Belfast has spoken of her pride at her young son's impressive Irish dancing achievements.
She said: "Tomi's been dancing since he was about six. He saw it in school when they were celebrating St Patrick's Day and he just wanted to try it. I sent him up to the Carson Academy, his teacher Gerard is a childhood friend of mine. He just took to it like a duck to water and was naturally very talented and it took off from there.
"To become a world champion at such a young age, there's a lot of people looking up to you as well, so you have that pressure too. There's pressure to retain what you've achieved. The youngster will be balancing this alongside his first year at secondary school, so keeping focused and juggling school and training for the championships will be essential.
"This is a hard year for Tomi too, he starts secondary school in Mercy College this year. It's a big year ahead of him, retaining his championships while starting his first year at big school.
