It's alleged that the BBC TV director and the retired school teacher had a disagreement over Welsh Politics.
Hywel Williams, 40, allegedly pushed granddad Peter Ormerod, 75, after the pair exchanged heated words at the pub in Burry Port, Wales, on September 24 2022.
Prosecutor Ian Wright KC said there is CCTV of the two men coming together outside a coffee shop a short distance from the pub before Williams allegedly pushed the older man to the floor.
