BBC listeners were annoyed after a Radio 4 Presenter reassured Bridgerton’s Adjoa Andoh she ‘had nothing to apologise for’ after calling the monarchs 'terribly white.'
Following Adjoa’s appearance, Twitter flooded with opinions and slated the star for supposedly making attempts to ‘try to backtrack’ on her statements as heard on the commentary programme.The Netflix series regular shared: ‘I think I upset a few people yesterday I was talking about the day and how marvellous it was and then looking at the balcony at the end.
She was interrupted by broadcaster Paddy O’Connell who said she need not ‘apologise’ and added: ‘You haven’t upset anyone.’ The radio host became the centre of a Twitter storm as listeners shared their views on his interjection during the live show. One penned: ‘Bridgerton star Adjoa Andoh has just tried to back track on @bbcradio4, about her comment that the Buckingham Palace balcony was “terribly white”.The historic Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla took place in Westminster Abbey on Saturday, May 6 - with celebrations continuing into the bank holiday Monday.
