Crusaders are being touted as serious title challengers this season
Stephen Baxter has played down the hype and fanfare surrounding Crusaders this season, claiming many fans' expectations are 'probably' based around the club's European displays against Rosenborg.
Early league wins against Ballymena United and Dungannon Swifts have done little to dampen that enthusiasm, but "wily old campaigner" Baxter is refusing to be seduced by the praise. "Glentoran last season got off to a brilliant start and were unbeaten in their opening nine or 10 games. And then they had a sticky patch and it is catch-up again.
"I felt there was a wee bit of a buzz around us, and I wanted the team to carry that into the league campaign. And they have done that in our two fixtures so far. Baxter says Stuart King's side are a "dangerous team", following an impressive recruitment drive over the summer.
