Early in the second half Serge Aurier wasted a glorious chance for Forest to double their lead, but the right back missed his kick completely.
A few minutes later, Forest found themselves behind. Sterling made a fantastic run in behind and was found with ease, before cutting inside and firing into the far corner – his best goal of the season by some way.
