The much anticipated movie is officially being released in UK cinemas today Friday, July 21. The movie follows the pair as they face the reality of leaving Barbie Land and features a star-studded cast.
From blink and you'll miss it cameos to scene-stealing performances, the cast includes everyone from Dua Lipa and Issa Rae to John Cena and Will Ferrell. In a recent interview with Heart Radio, Margot revealed how she convinced Ryan Gosling to play Ken.She said: “I bribed him essentially. I felt his hesitation and I said if you do this movie with us I’ll buy you a present every single day.” Ryan nodded along and shared his side of the story.
He said: “And she did, every day there was a pink wrapped present from Barbie to Ken in order to, I think, encourage Ken-ergy. They were all beach related or horse related.” Ryan added: “Yeah it was amazing, I mean at a certain point - it was a long shoot - at a certain point it felt like this is not sustainable, this can’t continue. But it did.”
