Baldur’s Gate 3 director Swen Vincke has revealed that the critically acclaimed D&D-inspired RPG will be coming to Xbox systems in 2023 after all. However, there will be a few limitations on the less powerful Series S console as this system will not have split-screen co-op functionality included. Those on Series X, however, will be able to experience the classic split-screen multiplayer experience. Both platforms will include cross-save progression between Steam and Xbox Series.
This news should come as a pleasant surprise to fans of the Microsoft gaming console as it had previously been believed thatwouldn’t have been possible in the short term. Fortunately, Larian Studios’ time at Gamescom proved fruitful as a productive meeting with Phil Spencer is seemingly all it took for them to figure out how to port the widely beloved open world adventure saga to the Xbox.
It’s currently unclear when it will be released on the Microsoft gaming console as Larian Studios hasn’t provided an exact date just yet. However, it will likely be made available on Xbox towards the end of 2023 as Vincke noted that the solution they’d found will allow them to bring it over “this year.” Now while you wait for it to launch on Xbox, check out our guides on
