The shocking discovery was made by a member of the public, who stumbled across the animal at a farm in Slamannan in Falkirk yesterday.
A balding dog has been found cruelly abandoned at a Scots farm almost 100 miles away from its home address.
It was taken to a vet, where it emerged the dog was microchipped to an address in Gretna, Dumfries and Galloway - where his owners no longer reside. The dog has since been put into a rescue centre, where it will receive the care until it is rehomed. “We understand that people’s circumstances can change, but this is not the right way to give up an animal if you can no longer care for them. The dog is now at one of our animal rescue and rehoming centres where they will receive the care they need.
