The Rivergate Centre branch will close next Tuesday with staff being made redundant
Ayrshire jobs have been lost after struggling retail giant Wilko announced the closure of their Irvine store.
It comes after the High Street UK retailer was plunged into administration last month, with insolvency firm PricewaterhouseCoopers appointed as administrators. Sadly, administrators PwC announced they were unable to salvage 52 Wilko sites and it has now been revealed that Irvine is one of two Scottish stores facing the axe, with Clydebank also earmarked for closure. It is still not known what the future holds for the Ayr store, with the High Street branch not currently included in the list of 52.
PwC insist they have a dedicated employee team which will continue to help provide support, including assisting in the statutory redundancy claims process. A dedicated employee helpline will remain in place to address any queries or concerns.
