Ashley Banjo made MBE by Princess Anne during investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle
Ashley Banjo has been made an MBE by the Princess Royal at an investiture ceremony on Tuesday 18 October.
Anne donned a black skirt with a matching blazer on top for the occasion, which she teamed with stockings and a pair of low heels. She styled her brunette hair up into a clip and wore a subtle amount of make up. Ashley was named in the New Years' Honours list and shared at the time how "humbled and extremely proud" he was to receive the honour.
Over a decade later, in 2020, the group returned to the ITV show, where they performed a Black Lives Matter inspired routine. It sparked over 24,000 Ofcom complaints but the broadcasting watchdog dismissed them, saying "its central message was a call for social cohesion and unity".Last year, Ashley spoke about a conversation he had with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry about the routine.
