Whether it’s a candlelit dinner or a takeaway for two, mealtimes bring people together. Nevertheless, as purses continue to feel the pinch amid the cost of living crisis, couples are ditching pricey restaurants for at-home date nights.
Asda has now launched a new £10 Dine in Deal for Two after new research from the Issa brothers-owned retailer revealed that 70% are dining out less due to the economic climate. While a home-cooked meal may initially seem romantic, the nation is struggling to recreate the restaurant experience at home with almost half admitting to serving up a mealtime disaster after overstating their cooking ability.
To help couples replicate the restaurant experience at home, the supermarket giant has launched 'Bistro' with the full meal deal range consisting of five starters, ten mains, seven sides and five desserts. The deal includes a starter, main, dessert and side dish, saving customers £5.
Shoppers can claim the deal in-store at Asda or through the website and a spokesperson added: "Bistro is part of a total makeover of the Asda meal solution range, with over 300 new and improved lines launching across all cuisines. The ranges of pre-prepared meals include Bom Bahia, House of Yum, Bistro and Takeout Club and are available to buy in-store and online at Asda.com."
