While TCU had a great 2022, much of the attention and reasoning for TCU’s opener being chosen for Fox’s “Big Noon Kickoff” centers on the Buffaloes and their new head coach, Deion Sanders.
TCU is getting some respect. The Horned Frogs are No. 17 in the preseason Associated Press poll, their highest preseason AP ranking since 2016. But generally, folks don’t seem to be expecting too much from last year’s national runner-up. “We watch people,” TCU coach Sonny Dykes said after a recent practice. “We hear and we listen. There’s a lot of sizzle out there.“All steak, no sizzle,” is TCU’s team mantra this year. Dykes spouted it at Big 12 media days, and TCU’s social media team is even using the hashtag #AllSteakNoSizzle leading up to kickoff.
