Arsonists keep breaking into same disused Oswaldtwistle mill and causing havoc

Arsonists are continuing to break into the same disused mill and causing havoc despite 'extensive' measures to keep them out.

Firefighters used jets, positive-pressure ventilation units, a triple extension ladder, a thermal imaging camera, and a fog spike to extinguish the blaze and were at the scene for around 90 minutes. It is the latest in a series of arson incidents reported at the mill in recent months and comes after 'extensive upgrades to the fencing'.Bosses say 'persistent arsonists' are still managing to get in and start fires and cause damage to the fencing.

"These fires are a nuisance to local residents and engage fire engines when they could be needed elsewhere. If you see anyone loitering or playing within the grounds, please report this to the Police on 101."
