A police helicopter circled the area before two men were arrested
Armed police swooped on streets near the centre of Oldham on Tuesday afternoon following reports of a man 'with a gun'.
A witness at the scene told the M.E.N that there were a number of officers seen 'going in and out of an apartment' and reports from local residents police were 'guarding the entrance' to a building.Pictures taken on Tuesday show a number of police vehicles at the scene, including an unmarked police car, as officers remained stationed outside a nearby building for a number of hours.
Specialist officers remained in attendance until the evening with extra patrols also introduced around the nearby area following the incident, that police currently believe is 'isolated'.
