Paul Boyle scored a first half goal for the Shamrocks, who powered clear to win by 11 and set up a final meeting with neighbours Cushendall
Dunloy’s reign as Antrim and Ulster Hurling champions is over after they were sensationally ambushed by Loughgiel in Ballycastle on Sunday afternoon.
However, the defending champions made the brighter start with a hat-trick of Conal Cunning points while James McNaughton was off target with a couple of early frees for the Shamrocks. At the other end, Loughgiel opened up a five-point cushion with James McNaughton and Shan McGrath adding points. With the game in the melting pot, it was a real test of character for this young Loughgiel team. They would pass with flying colours as they outscored the Cuchullains 0-11 to 0-3 in the last 23 minutes.
