After a long pandemic-induced delay, the final instalment of the BBC and HBO’s adaptation of His Dark Materials will be arriving on our screens this winter. hisdarkmaterials
are always kept closely under wraps, we do know that one epic multidimensional battle is headed our way in the final chapter of the series.
The teaser shows Asriel assembling an army of angels, daemons, witches and rebellious angels to take down the Authority, including Serafina Pekkala and a new character, Commander Ogunwe , the leader of Asriel’s military forces. We also see the return of the prophesied Eve child Lyra Belacqua , who was kidnapped by her evil mother, Mrs Coulter , in season two.
The teaser also shows a glimpse of Lyra and Will Parry , the bearer of the portal-creating Subtle Knife, travelling to the Land of the Dead, a parallel dimension akin to the underworld.star Lin-Manuel Miranda’s surprise return as aeronaut Lee Scoresby, despite the character’s apparent demise in season two.Alongside the new teaser, a US release date was also confirmed at the Comic-Con panel.
