Such a brave lad
A brave boy who had open heart surgery has been awarded with second place at the Pride of Rossendale Awards.
Michelle said: “Charlie is such an amazing and special little boy and everyone is amazed at how well he is doing. It was such a difficult operation. Before it, Charlie had broken his arm and he had three surgeries all around the same time but he has been amazing in his recovery. Sodium valproate syndrome is so rare that Charlie can only go to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. It is a condition that is caused by exposure of the unborn baby to valproic acid or sodium valproate during the first three months of pregnancy.
