The Lioness met her other half at secondary school
England Lioness Alex Greenwood has gone from playing football outside her nan's house in Bootle to helping her team make it to the World Cup Final.
Cheering her on in the stands will be her famous partner - fellow footballer Jack O'Connell. O'Connell retired from football earlier this year, after seven years at Sheffield United.Before that, he had spells at Brentford and Blackburn Rovers, as well as Rotherham United and Rochdale on loan. Greenwood and O'Connell are childhood sweethearts, having met when they were both at Savio Salesian College in Bootle.
As previously reported, Greenwood left Everton in 2014 to join Notts County, but stayed just a single season in the midlands before heading to the other side of the city and signing for childhood club Liverpool. That led to a move to European juggernaut Lyon, where she won the UEFA Women's Champions League, appearing alongside fellow England stars Lucy Bronze and Jodie Taylor in the final as the French side sealed the quadruple.
