Accrington Market Hall bosses issue Christmas season pledge to traders before £11m transformation
No traders will be required to move from a historic market hall until after the Christmas season before an £11million renovation takes place.
The exchange came as the senior councillors debated the latest progress on the transformation of the town centre with £23m of government Levelling Up cash. The meeting approved a bid for £5million from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to help pay for the conversion of Accrington’s Market Chambers into a heritage and cultural venue.
Cllr Haworth promised full consultation with tenants now that a ‘decant manager’ had been appointed to oversee the move of traders during the renovation work.
