Conservative MPs and security sources are continuing to question the reappointment of Suella Braverman as Home Secretary, suggesting it is part of a “grubby deal” that helped Rishi Sunak win the keys to No 10.
Mr Sunak has defended the appointment, insisting Ms Braverman has recognised her “error of judgement” and has “accepted her mistake”. One senior Tory MP said: “It is a massive mistake to bring her back. Six days in the wilderness is simply not good enough, it was a serious breach.
