Masked robbers threatened staff in a cash depot and tied them up with cable ties before breaking into vehicles to steal £5,000,000 in cash 😲
The value of cash stolen places the heist as the highest-value cash depot robbery in the UK since 2006 The gang smuggled themselves into a high-security warehouse at the Slough Trading Estate, Berkshire, at roughly 5am on Wednesday by hiding underneath a truck.
They then used angle grinders to carve out a hole in a nearby metal fence, crossing a neighbouring property and leaping into two vehicles to make their escape.Detective superintendent Kevin Brown said: ‘While I understand this may be alarming, there is no evidence of any wider threat to the public. ‘There will be an increased police presence in the area while we investigate and anyone with concerns should speak to a uniformed officer.’
A blue forensic tent was seen at the site on Thursday as investigators continued their inquiries into the robbery
