The longer the delay, the more severe injuries, hospitalisations and deaths we'll see
has only been in the UK for a short period of time, but its impact has been dramatic. Originally bred from fighting pit bulls – dogs that were selected for their ability to fight to the death – in the late 80s and early 90s, then inbred repeatedly for greater size and strength, it has become disproportionately responsible for the greatest annual deaths to dogs in the UK since records began.on both other dogs and humans , the American XL Bully is a uniquely dangerous breed.
However, due to an amnesty period announced by the Government, the ban on the American Bully will not be enforced until 2025. This means a great many maulings, severe injuries and deaths – of both people and other dogs – are to be expected throughout the next year. This is plainly unacceptable. Since the ban announcement over a month ago, there has already been another death, and a continuous stream of attacks.
