Our thoughts are with both men's families
Two men died in the "same event" after a crash in separate vehicles on the M1, a pre-inquest review heard. An inquiry into the deaths of self-employed Harris Gondwe, 38, and Jack Steer, 52, was launched by Nottinghamshire's Coroner's Service after they both died at the scene of the collision in Nottinghamshire on January 20 this year.
"Very sadly his wife identified him at the Queen's Medical Centre after she was notified about the death of her husband," said Miss Casey. The second gentleman, Mr Gondwe, was born on May 15, 1983, and died in the "same event", added Miss Casey, on January 20. He was 38 years old. The coroner has a full investigation report from police. The National Highways Agency was involved from the outset. Statements and reports will be read at the next hearing, and Mrs Casey has requested transcripts of conversations.
