It will cover Corby and Wellingborough roads
As many as 13 Northamptonshire roads will be micro-asphalted to improve their condition. North Northamptonshire Council, in partnership with Kier, said it has kickstarted its maintenance programme.
This programme forms part of North Northamptonshire’s £19.5M capital works programme to improve roads across the county this year. Roads identified for the treatment have undergone a condition assessment and meet the criteria for intervention at a critical point, before needing replacement. "We have balanced proactive and reactive road maintenance as part of our capital works programme, to include cost-effective and long-lasting treatments – to provide a better experience for our residents and road users.”
John Coombes, general manager at Kier Transportation, said: “By using this preventative treatment on roads before they pass the point of repair, we can provide an efficient, cost-effective solution that extends the life of roads for years to come.
