In total, 20,136 fines have been issued since the start of the scheme in June with an average of 165 drivers being fined every day. The council could have amassed around £1,208,000 in revenue from the scheme from just first time offenders. Figures relating to the 'surcharge' breakdown for August and September are not yet available, a council spokesperson confirmed.
