A bit of a mixed bag - and then sunshine
Rain is expected to hit Nottingham hard over the next few days with heavy showers forecast over the weekend and cloudy skies next week. Residents across Nottingham woke up to another cloudy start this morning and occasional showers will continue across the day and into the early evening when more widespread and heavy rain is forecast overnight.
On Saturday, August 5, the Met Office forecast: "Widespread rain throughout the day, heavy and possibly thundery at times. Breezy, especially along coasts. "Rain becoming lighter and patchier into the evening, clearing eastern coasts during the night. Maximum temperature 15 °C." This wet weather is set to continue into next week, as looking from Sunday, August 6 until Tuesday, August 8, but the government agency does also forecast some sunny spells.It states: "Sunday and Monday likely to see a mix of scattered showers and occasional sunny spells. Tuesday may see some patchy rain move eastwards across the region.
Looking ahead at the rest of the week, the weather is expected to remain "cool and breezy" and "fairly unsettled" as showers continue. However, the Met Office does state in its long-range weather forecast that from the middle of the month the weather is expected to settle and become drier.
